BBB Accredited Auto Shippers

The auto shipping industry has made leaps and bounds since the internet took over almost all industries in the world. Getting in touch with an auto transporter is now a piece of cake, when before only car manufacturers knew how to do business with them.

Today, also, there are third-party groups that watch over how businesses are done, and one of them is BBB or the Better Business Bureau, specifically as they publish a list of BBB accredited auto shippers.

The goal of BBB is to reward outstanding companies, in this case auto shipping companies, by giving them the credit and exposure they deserve, and educate the public so that they won’t fall prey to unreliable car shippers, as well as fraudulent companies. The Bureau is run by third-party business personnel coming from different types of businesses to ensure objectivity.

On the BBB website, the Bureau publishes a list of its recommended car shippers. Accredited auto shippers are determined and graded based on (1) how they care for the customers, (2) how long they have been in the business, (3) how long it takes them to resolve complaints, and (4) how well they ship vehicles. Based on these four criteria, auto companies get a BBB Rating, the highest of which is an A+. Typically, transporters with an A+ BBB Rating would make sure that people know about it.

An A+ BBB Rating means an auto car shipping company knows what it is doing because it has been in the business for some time, it performs competently and reliably, it quickly resolves complaints, and customers are satisfied. BBB regularly updates its website to make sure that potential customers get to see which auto transporters just got the highest rate possible.

Another thing the BBB does is to expose customer complaints against a company to serve as a warning sign to whoever is considering to hire that company. Typically, BBB is the last to hear about a complaint. Logically, a dissatisfied customer should first bring his or her complaint to driver.

The driver, of course, was most likely to have caused the mistake or damage. If the driver does not attempt to resolve it, the customer may take the matter directly to the people at headquarters. Finally, if the car shipping company does not attempt to resolve the complaint, the complainant may go to BBB.

Sadly, all BBB can do is publish the complaint in the hopes that the erring car shipper corrects its ways or the potential customer goes to another company. Either way, the consumer benefits from it.

BBB cannot prosecute any company and could not perform any policing. This is not to say it is helpless. Its reviews, ratings, and recommendations are influencing the industry, and auto transport companies are taking notice. They work hard to deserve an A+.
